This year Bournemouth saw over 1.4 Million spectators hit the golden beaches for the annual 4 day Air Festival. We supplied over 14 Kilometres of public address between the piers along the beach and along the Over Cliff that then continued into the town’s gardens that consistently covered all audience areas with commentary and event important information.

We also supplied audio systems to the festivals concert stages that are positioned at each end of the huge event site. The Night Air Boscombe stage that saw over 20,000 spectators and artists such as: Newton Faulkner, The Feeling, Kodaline, Lisa Stansfield and Blue. We supplied our recently acquired Martin Audio MLA-Compact Speaker System to this stage and all engineers where blown away with what this system was capable of. The Night Air Bournemouth Stage then saw various local bands and cover bands.

This was the second year that we had supplied The Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford and we made a bigger impact than ever with this year’s event supplying our 100v Line Public Address System to all key audience areas. This was something that was noticed by Operations Director Chris Murray who said “worthy of special mention: W E Audio, which provided a much improved PA system” (Standout, Sept 2013).

Supplying The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) this season has marked a very proud milestone for us as a company. Early in 2011 we were approached by the event team to offer a solution that would improve their current Public Address commentary system and this is exactly what we achieved.

However this did not come without its challenges on this remarkably large event site and the weather not being on our side during installation. Nevertheless we completed the job to plan and made a huge impact with our clear audible system across the whole site.

During the event we also supplied the audio system for the launch of the A400 Airbus.

We have just had confirmation that we will be supplying next year, due to our astounding results and we equally are looking forward to this.

W E Audio supply Public Address services to many of the British Air shows/festivals and becoming part of the British Air Display Association (BADA) was a natural progression that enhances our services to our end client. Having the understanding of how air displays operate, specifically having the knowledge of the relevant safety information at our disposal, from the likes of the CAA makes us completely unique as an audio supplier.

Joining BADA is something that we are very proud of as a company and is another thing that we think is important to improve our application of service to future events.

W E Audio were commissioned by Bournemouth Council to provide the public address and entertainment systems for their 2011 Air Festival held on the beach and cliff tops around the town itself – the largest air festival in Europe attracting 1.4 million spectators over the four day period.

Installing over 500 horn loudspeakers on the beach front and cliff top spectator areas was a challenge for the W E Audio team as the weather on build up days became wetter and wetter culminating on Friday with a fortnight's worth of rain falling in just 30 minutes. However the team completed rigging the system on time and the show went ahead with no hitches.

Alongside the public address system were two stage systems supplied with Turbosound TQ systems that ran a variety of acts during the festival. Once again W E Audio provided an event with comprehensive audio solutions for their entire festival with a successful outcome for the organisers and public alike.

W E Audio is again having a busy summer hitting the great British events with force. The recent Southend-On-Sea Air Festival with commentary from BBC Radio Essex and seamless coverage of audio over the whole site from W E Audio was a recipe for success. Rylan Machin W E Audio’s project manager for the event said this. “The total coverage of the site is 1.6 miles, this included a whopping 8km of cable, over 300 public address horns, which resulted in a smooth transition of coverage over the 70 rigged positions”.

W E Audio also supplied 2 complete radio communications systems with new Motorola Mototrbo DP3600 handsets to the event. Our double story commentary unit was also utilised and formed a great base for the air show’s traffic control contractors. Overall the event was a great start to the summer and was much appreciated by the event organisers, Southend-On-Sea council.

The Event Safety Shop, health and safety consultants also working on the site said; “We were very happy with the health and safety on all the technical requirements from W E Audio on the site”.
